I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote. Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else. Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.

The problem for Rishi Sunak is that this is not a debating competition. Even if he seems to win most of these arguments and pins Keir Starmer down, it will only make him look to many as though he is patronising, privileged and aggressive.

@RestIsPolitics I voted Sunak not because he is honest or trustworthy, nor am I voting conservatives, but because of Sunak’s style of argument and confidence, he is debating well and getting the same points over and over. It's a style that many will fall for.
