Any school that can afford to build an aquatic centre like this for $125m shouldn't receive a cent of government funding.

For those who are interested in reading the actual interim report from the Senate inquiry into classroom disruption, rather than news articles about the report, I think I have found it - apo.org.au/node/325165. It’s 87 pages and I have many thoughts, which I’ll post later.

Being a teacher is the most important job in the world and we don’t have enough. Pay is important. So is reducing workload. And so is respect. That’s what this new national campaign the PM and I will launch today is all about. Here’s a teaser.

In Victoria Scripture is run outside curriculum hours. It is time for NSW politicians to listen to parents and the profession and do the same. We need more teachers not Preachers. Please sign the petition below. parliament.nsw.gov.au/la/pages/epeti…

If you are a #VoteNo and possess: - Australian indigenous art & instruments - AFL or NRL indigenous guernseys - Happy snaps from your trip to Uluru Then put them away. You don't get to celebrate Australia's wonderful indigenous history & culture and then punch them in the guts on polling day.

Laughing because the amount of hate being thrown around in the lead up to #October14 makes me cry. Let’s beat the hate with laughter, kindness and for goodness sake education. If you don’t know, LEARN! 🖤💛❤️ youtu.be/g9n_UPyVR5s?si…

Thank you to over 500 staff from our Hastings Valley public schools for engaging with me this morning. I appreciated being able to meet many of you in person so I could answer your questions. Thanks to the conference organisers & I look forward to visiting all your schools soon.

I too strongly believe that there is no better and safer place for our children and youth other than their school. I too believe that being a teacher is the most important thing I’ve done in my life. ❤️

Since April, nearly 5,500 temporary teachers & support staff across NSW have accepted offers of permanent employment. The reaction has been extraordinary. I heard from Anthony & Chandani, @merrylandshs staff, who are thrilled with being offered permanency. education.nsw.gov.au/news/latest-ne…

if we funded schools fairly…it would certainly mean that the dollars that were invested would get some kind of return in terms of making an actual difference in children’s lives who need it, rather than funding yet another Olympic swimming pool for already overindulged kids.

“Every child should be given the opportunity and the resources they need to develop their potential to the fullest extent. That’s the only way to break the poverty cycle. It would actually reduce crime, it would increase prosperity generally.”

open.spotify.com/episode/0hIAFT… @JaneCaro gets it. “I am sure that there are people in private education now who are also uncomfortable with the extraordinary funding divide, and also the extraordinary and growing class divide, which has developed over the last 20 years.”
