I don't think there's a more spineless, fickle and disingenuous fandom of influencers and shills than the Xbox fandom, nor more gullible fans. Some of the same folk who touted Xbox's acquisitions FOR exclusives, then switched to exclusives are bad, going away, when we all play it's great and the only way platforms can be profitable etc, are now back to pushing exclusives again. 😐 The whiplash inducing flip flops are both laughable and foolish. And the people who defend the constant flip flops that always align with Xbox's strategy shifts, as just 'growth in opinion', either unintelligent simpletons or intellectually dishonest. Switching stances to always conform to a platforms strategies isn't evolving opinion but parroting whatever the platform wants them to push, akin to propaganda. It also shows said people don't actually have credible and reliable convictions of their own, nor an adherence to actual facts and data. Is it any surprise then that Asha Sharma is doubling down on the para social stuff and also sending Project Helix gift packs to start the PR nice and early? No. If Helix does end up being an ultra premium system and bridge towards off boarding away from console and closer to PC or publishing, the ever shrinking echo chamber of gullible, easily swayed fans will be more important than ever, likewise influencers to propagate the favoured narratives and marketing during this important transition. Interestingly and thankfully, the wider market doesn't buy into said parrotted PR, hence Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox's trajectories, market impact and strategies have fared as they have. /rant
