The way I feel about Crimson Desert a few hours in: If you love story-rich RPGs... this isn't for you. It's not a RPG and it's a Korean game so the story isn't amazing. If you love open-world MMOs and everything that comes with them... you'll love this.

It's good so far. Also, turns out cinematic quality is no issue whatsoever for a 9070XT even at 2x the PS5 Pro's input resolution.

Cinematic quality is nice, but Ultra basically keeps me north of 120fps all the time. And it still looks much better than the consoles. Easy choice there.

What bothers me most when fans defend this slop is when they cower behind the "oh, so you're just gonna shit all over the work of hard-working VFX artists?" line. Those VFX artists are overworked, underpaid, and given nothing to work with, which you don't actually care about.
