Earlier this week @joellewenstein sat down with @soleio to speak at @southpkcommons. Wanted to share a few takeaways that stuck with me. There was an interesting point made around thinking of the software we're building as dwellings. Designers are no longer just arranging screens, we are shaping the environments that we all cohabit with AI. This means the responsibility and mindset of a software designer shifts more towards considering how a system guides, nudges, questions, interrupts, reassures, and understands, etc. Whether the experience helps us actually think better or just keeps us engaged longer. And further towards thinking how we shape the relationship and interactions with an always-present intelligence. In many ways, it's always been this way to adopt an architectural mindset; but as we interact more with these systems, its more important than ever to give attention and care towards our interfaces as they offer a clear reflection of the intelligence that we spend our time with. Even if the todays paradigm revolves around a chat interface, thinking of the experience similar to an architect designing a dwelling allows for us to adjust our considerations for the space we are spending our time in. I find that incredibly uplifting and much easier to test with reality. Grateful to have been an attendee. Lots of food for thought.

Introducing Pool That little icon got us $2M in funding, 15M organic views, and now you can all finally discover what's behind it. Pool is "just an app for your screenshots." But it holds a few bets we decided to build a whole company on. We believe the context of the future is your camera roll. Understanding someone's taste, the texture of their life, can unlock things we can't even comprehend yet. We believe the future of interfaces will feel the way games make us feel, computing as a beautiful mix of art and technology. Now live on the App Store.
