Harvard researchers have identified lithium depletion in the brain as a key driver of Alzheimer’s disease, opening the door to low-dose lithium treatments that may prevent or even reverse memory loss. For decades, scientists have sought the exact mechanisms that convert brain abnormalities into the progressive cognitive decline seen in Alzheimer’s. A major new study from Harvard Medical School suggests that lithium — a naturally occurring element essential for maintaining neuronal health and protecting against aging — plays a central role. The researchers found that as toxic amyloid plaques accumulate, they bind to and deplete the brain’s natural lithium reserves. This depletion helps explain why some individuals with significant plaque buildup never develop full dementia: their lithium levels may remain sufficient to provide ongoing neuroprotection. To overcome this issue, the team screened lithium compounds and identified lithium orotate, a form that largely evades capture by amyloid plaques. In mouse models of Alzheimer’s, low-dose lithium orotate, administered at levels roughly 1,000 times lower than those used for psychiatric conditions, reversed key disease pathologies, reduced plaque and tau accumulation, restored synapses, and fully recovered memory function, even in older animals with advanced disease. Importantly, this treatment showed no signs of the kidney or thyroid toxicity associated with higher-dose lithium therapies. While human clinical trials are still needed, the findings raise the possibility that routine lithium screening and early supplementation could transform how Alzheimer’s is prevented and treated. The Brazilian Real is now the best-performing EM currency since the start of the war, leaving aside the Hungarian Forint, which is idiosyncratic and about Orban losing the election. The Real has a lot further to go and - unlike 2022 - will go below 4.50... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-perfect-…

DIESEL DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE. Tesla Semi high-volume production started April 29, 2026. Same load. Same route. Same 700 km / 435 miles. Every day. Tesla Semi → $111/day Freightliner Cascadia → $358/day → $247 saved. Every single day. → ~69% cheaper energy → ~3.2x cheaper to run 10-year TCO: Tesla Semi → $712,400 Diesel → $1,812,345 → ~$1.1M more profitable per truck The math is bulletproof. Every day you wait costs you $247. Fleet owners… your move. #TeslaSemi #ElectricTruck #Bettrification #EV

Tesla has launched a new Model 3 lineup in Canada, introducing the Model 3 Premium RWD starting at $39,490 CAD (that converts to just $29,000 USD!). Tesla has also cut the Model 3 Performance price by 17% to $74,990 CAD (from $89,990). The Model 3 Premium RWD trim is about 50% cheaper than the previously lowest-priced Model 3 Long Range ($79,990 CAD) in Canada, which has just been discontinued. The price to get into a Tesla just got a lot more affordable in Canada!

Sundar Pichai just said data centers in space will be "the new normal" within a decade. @elonmusk has been saying this for years. When the CEO of Google starts agreeing with Elon, pay attention. The orbital compute era is closer than you think.

Brazil's most underappreciated strategic asset is a tree. Brazilian eucalyptus is the most efficient timber crop on Earth. Eucalyptus in Brazil reaches harvest in 6 to 7 years. Pine in the U.S. South takes 22 to 40 years. Pine in Canada and Scandinavia takes 60 to 100 years. Brazil's average eucalyptus yield is 35.7 cubic meters of wood per hectare every year. That is almost double the productivity of pine plantations in the Northern Hemisphere. Same hectare. Same year. Twice the wood. Brazil now operates more than 10 million hectares of planted forests. Three out of every four trees planted in Brazil for industrial use are eucalyptus. Suzano alone operates 2.7 million hectares across seven Brazilian states. That makes Suzano the largest pulp producer on the planet, and Brazil the global leader in cellulose, tissue, and packaging supply chains. Climate, soil, and decades of breeding research at Embrapa. Three structural advantages no Northern Hemisphere forestry operation can replicate. The most underappreciated industrial advantage in the world is growing on Brazilian land right now. Most investors are still treating forestry as a slow asset class. In Brazil, it compounds in 6 years.

🇨🇳 A Chinese EV just broke Bugatti's all-time speed record. 308 mph on a battery. The Chiron held that record for 6 years with a 1,600 hp W16 and BYD cleared it with 4 electric motors. The crown is Chinese now.
