The war, which is nothing like a little excursion, hasn’t been ‘easier than expected’ as President Trump said this afternoon.
Iran is exporting more oil than ever before, our Gulf allies feel blindsided, the goalposts are shifting so far there’s no talk of any of the initial goals, and over 30 of our soldiers are in hospitals after the Iranian drone attack in Kuwait. Plus, there’s the missile that struck an Iranian school and killed over a 100 kids.
Have there been military wins? Of course! Some great ones. But being realistic about how this is unfolding isn’t unpatriotic - quite the opposite.

Iran’s regime is dangerous. But downplaying civilian casualties undermines the very foreign-policy restraint Trump claimed to champion. Announcing it days before a Congressional vote looks less like strategy and more like avoiding oversight, yet again.

No one is taking away from the men’s win by pointing out that the women were treated poorly. Trump’s ‘joke’ was a relic of a sexist time past and had real impact.
The men know they messed up and they’re saying as much, privately and publicly.
The President should congratulate all the winners, especially when women delivered more gold (67%) - and medals overall (61%) - than the men. Six straight Olympics outperforming the men. Put some respect on that.
