The documentary that the BBC refused to air - Gaza: Doctors Under Attack - won a Bafta last night.
The documentary shows the targeting, detainment and torture of medics in Gaza by Israeli authorities. The decimation of Gaza’s healthcare system including the detention of healthcare workers is central to Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Amnesty awarded Gaza: Doctors Under Attack at the Amnesty Media Awards last week. The work of everyone involved in making this documentary and fighting for it to be broadcast shows the importance of journalists willing to speak truth to power.

They have been abducted by Israel and are being kept under unlawful detention. Being in international waters to deliver aid to Gaza is not a crime. Israel continues to be allowed to act with imputing and face no consequences for illegal actions and violations of international law. UN member states must act now The reported torture of a civilian activists, combined with the unlawful transfer of detainees from European waters, marks a dangerous escalation with far-reaching legal and moral consequences. Failure to act now risks not only the safety and lives of Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila, but further erodes the credibility of international law in the face of ongoing atrocities in Gaza. All the UN member states must take immediate action to ensure the safety of all flotilla participants and the release of Thiago and Saif. Release them now!!!!!! 🇵🇸 🇪🇸 Following their 1–0 victory over RC Strasbourg Alsace in the UEFA Conference League semi-final first leg on Thursday, players for Spanish professional football club Rayo Vallecano, dedicated the historic win to the Palestinian people, celebrating with a Palestinian flag in front of fans at the Estadio de Vallecas.
The gesture reflects a long-standing tradition among supporters of Rayo Vallecano, the Madrid club based in the working-class neighborhood of Vallecas—particularly the Bukaneros ultras group, known for its anti-fascist and left-wing political stance.
Fans at a recent match unfurled a massive Palestinian flag and displayed a tifo reading, “No one can occupy the root of a dream.” After the game today, supporters were heard chanting, “Whoever doesn’t dance is Netanyahu.”
The victory puts Rayo Vallecano one step away from the first European final in the club’s history.
