@MervRobertson I don’t doubt there’s a very strong argument for JR Reid. And having seen him play you’re well placed to judge. The clincher for me: I struggle to see how he could be better than Cairns was at his peak around 1999-2000.

@mark_geenty on NZ cricket greats. Having seen all your all-time team play, can't pick any obvious changes but ask, "JR Reid for Cairns?" Saw JR several times and he & Bert batting together was as good as it ever gets. Medium pace & offspin, fierce batter & great in the gully.

@Knowlesie Tough XI to pick eh Simon. Stead keeps saying they will play a spinner and on form/ability that has to be Ajaz. If in doubt, pick best 6 batsmen and best 5 bowlers, and don’t think they lose a lot with KJ at 7 compared with the allrounders.

@Knowlesie Hi mate. That is strange as it has shown up on the board in previous years. I'll ask why not. We could see the readings on TV in the box, I'd say KJ averaged 130kmh across the day. A few looked faster than that with the gale behind him.

@mark_geenty Hi Mark, decent first day of test. Any idea why there is no speed gun showing for the bowlers? Too much wind? Was curious to know what Jamieson was bowling at, and my brother in Australia had the reading on Foxtel!
