Much greater safety for people in and out of cars. Less noise pollution. More space reclaimed for humans. Human brain cycles and attention capital freed up from “lane following” to other pursuits. Cheaper, faster, programmable delivery of physical items and goods. It won’t happen overnight but there will be the era before and the era after.

I have a lot of trust in Trump when it comes to foreign policy, so I'm trying not to judge before we see how it ends. But unless he has a concrete alternative plan on how to stop Iran, this kind of rhetoric makes him look weak and indecisive, which is detrimental to a peace through strength foreign policy. There's no point in letting Iran buy time with faux diplomacy. They have proven time and time again that they're not good-faith negotiators. They are not interested in voluntarily ending their nuclear weapons program. Giving them a short and hard deadline of 24 hours would make more sense if you really want to make sure you've exhausted all avenues of diplomacy, but dragging this out for two weeks serves no purpose.

@HanShawnity Agree but I find the political will to be more an issue due to the woke right not having the mental capacity for nuance to understand your logic, while the left hates him no matter what. Even if the operation is 100% successful with zero losses, I think they'll still cry.

My theory was that Trump is waiting for Israel to take out as much of Iran's conventional capabilities as possible so as to limit their potential retaliation to American bases and assets in the region. If that's the case, it wouldn't be the worst idea. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
