Popovic getting hammered already. Got the Socceroos out of a tricky-ish group. Lost Bos early, took Egypt to pens. They could have been more attacking - Egypt aren't great. But if Souttar gets over it, the shootout might be different. Managers don't guess about penalties.

@maxrushden While that’s a reasonable assessment, I’d suggest that they impressed most in tne first half of the first game. That 11 didn’t play again since then, why? Also if our biggest attacking threat is played out of position that’s frustrating when it reduced his impact.

And how many truly elite players are in this squad? How many midfielders who can unlock a defence? Souttar was immense. That Beach save was unreal. I love Jackson Irvine. But last 32 is probably about right?? Aware other opinions are available. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
