The biggest transformation in smart homes today isn't about tech advancements but how tech integrates into our daily lives. As devices merge into lighting, security, sound, and living areas, the emphasis is shifting from features to experiences. homesandgardens.com/solved/ise-bar…

To establish a deeply meaningful connection between the products we create and the users they serve, we must understand what users believe, what they feel, and why they feel it. If we don’t have that type of empathy, we need to find it. @SmartThings #empatheticdesign #smarthome

“Smart homes use technology to make your home safer, more convenient and more efficient,” says @markbenson, head of SmartThings, Samsung’s home automation company. “And while ‘smart home’ is a concept that’s been around for a decade, new technology has made it more common."

Rich Horwath on the power of creating shared value, purpose, and identity for high performing teams: "To generate the greatest creativity and extricate the deepest level of talent from an organization, don’t tell them what to do and how to do it — tell them who they are."

@erikanderson @BrianSchmalz Many times, the candidate will first answer that basic question with a basic response. But the real insight comes in the follow up questions: Why was collaboration challenging? What specific roles did you play (and why) ? What could have gone better?

The more complex the problem, the more help you need to solve it. If teamwork and collaboration skills are essential for solving our biggest challenges, why don't more companies interview for it as a core competency?

@erikanderson @BrianSchmalz I've found situational questions work well. For instance, "Tell me about the most challenging project you worked on in which teamwork and collaboration was critical to success." You can tell a lot by how they explain the specific roles they played (and why) in the solution.
