1 month sober and the first meeting I said I was an alcoholic which was met with tremendous cheers as I have struggled with the “A” word. First time in over 30 years without a drink and especially during the euros. My wife’s and boys and friends support is unreal #RecoveryPosse

In Jimmy's case, it left him with PTSD, caused family rifts and led to a suicide attempt and homelessness.
Now 45, it's great to see him in a happy place. Waiving his anonymity, he says, is all part of the healing process.

I've been following this story since 2018 and, even now, the details still shock me.
