I understand the challenges we are facing. The club is currently at the bottom of the league with just two points and conceding goals heavily, and it's a challenging situation. We all feel the impact, and it's painful. However, when I returned to the club in May 2023, I knew that turning things around would be a massive task. The club was in a difficult financial position and had significant challenges, including not having a permanent home ground. My goal was to help the club survive and thrive once again. Rather than dwelling on the past, I've chosen to focus on what I can do to improve our current situation. I take full responsibility for where we are now, but I am also committed to improving things. Despite the challenges, we have managed to retain and even attract new sponsors, expand our social media presence, and bring in additional investors who believe in the club's potential. These individuals have shown incredible support and are aligned with our vision of creating a close-knit, successful, community-oriented club. While the current circumstances are challenging, I am grateful for the support and trust these individuals have placed in me. Together, we will work to steer the club in the right direction and overcome the hurdles that it faces. I kindly ask you to keep the following message in mind: We all understand that the club must return to Skelmersdale if we hope to turn our fortunes around. This is the most daunting challenge the club has ever faced in its 142-year history. Ideally, we would like to maintain our position within the non-league pyramid and hit the ground running when we return to Skem. However, let's not sugarcoat it; we could fall short on both fronts. We are fighting for the survival of our beloved club. But let me tell you something about a fight: you can't win a battle if you sit on the fence; you must stand and fight for it. You don't have to share my view or that of any other club member, but you can still stand by us and make it hard for us to accept defeat. And here's how you can do it and why you should. I have invested thousands of pounds in the club to ensure its survival. My wife Rowena handles all the hospitality and bears the cost of cleaning all the kits. As I mentioned, other individuals are also digging deep into their pockets, whether they are my fellow directors, sponsors, or supporters. Moreover, many people sacrifice their leisure time and volunteer their services. A club like ours cannot function without volunteers. However, it's a double-edged sword, as people are not inclined to watch an underperforming team. For example, during our last match on Saturday, we had to accept a loss of £1,000. We need approximately 200 more supporters to help absorb these losses. So, the solution is simple: we need more support. The club's fortunes can be significantly improved with more people coming to support us and providing financial assistance. You don't have to contribute directly; you can also help by participating in fundraising activities, attending race nights, or participating in one of our raffles. The criticism of the club is all good, and at times, it can even be constructive, but unfortunately, it doesn't pay the bills. I devote a lot of time to listening to people and their opinions, some of which I find amusing. Just the other day, someone remarked that the club is run by individuals who have never played football, conveniently forgetting that some people who have played football have never run a club. It's no walk in the park unless you have unlimited resources; it's incredibly tough, to be honest. However, I am deeply passionate about this club and have always been since my dad dragged me along, kicking and screaming. @Westlancsbc @nonleagueshow @Non_League_Talk @nonleagueforall @NONLGE_Hughesy @GMNonLeague @NonLeagueCrowd @NonLeaguePaper @NLChronicles @NonLeagueRadio @nonleaguesean @nonleagueforall @nwcfl @skemfirst @SkemNews
