This is BMW's R1300R Superhooligan which marks the 50th anniversary of the company's victory in the world's first major Superbike race, at Daytona in March 1976, when Steve McLaughlin rode his #83 R90S to the win. Why isn't there a Superhooligan class in WSBK?!

@chillimoto @JoshClose7 @DoubleRedBSB If you’re flying, & can get a flight to East Midlands Airport, Donington is really nearby. Maybe 5 miles?. There’s camping on site and a few hotels too. If you’re driving and taking ferry to Holyhead, it’s not a bad run across North Wales to Oulton. Both great for spectators👍

@SirGuyGuisborne The thing is… aged 15, riding in the woods, I desperately wanted a full face lid & fast bike. 40 years on, I do occasionally enjoy the perverse pleasure of riding very slow in the woods in an open face lid. It’s as daft & inexplicable as motorbikes or Landrovers are ! 😀

Can anyone tell me why they’d wear an open face helmet?
