I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

🚨 @campbellclaret 👏 Well said! “History will say the three key drivers of Brexit were David Cameron, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage.” “Nigel Farage helped inflict the very thing that has weakened our economy, weakened our standing in the world and damaged our confidence. The fact some people now think he should be Prime Minister is a form of madness.”

@LizWebsterSBF @SydesJokes @campbellclaret Farage did not reside over Brexit. We did not get the deal Farage envisioned. The Tories gave us a bad deal version. Far from protecting U.K. it opened our borders for the mass an ideation problem which has destabilised Britain.

@ZackPolanski Sorry but we need to cut the welfare bill. How can so many people be so ill they need welfare. Yes there are genuine cases but we need to get back to the days of working hard and building a country to be proud of. Look at the welfare bill cost and justify it @ZackPolanski

One thing you can absolutely guarantee in life. When Labour ministers talk about difficult choices, it's never the rich and powerful that will be taking a hit.

@Acyn Why would a local grocer who doesn't make 30% margins not just buy out the entire store and move it to their own store to sell at retail and enjoy the 30% margins??

Mamdani: Today, I am proud to announce a collection of essential staples that will be predictably 30% cheaper at all five of our city-run grocery stores. This core set of goods will include all fresh produce, meat, and seafood, along with 20 other essential items like cheese, milk, and bread. Here's how it will work. Once a month, our five city-run grocery stores will set prices for this core set of goods at 30% below typical retail prices. No exceptions, no gimmicks. The savings will last for the entire month. That means no weekly fluctuations or sticker shock at the checkout line—not for our seniors living on fixed incomes, nor for the parents who rely on a regular supply of apple slices to keep toddler tantrums at bay.

@implausibleblog Everything is better under public control. We should all give as much of our money to the government as possible so they can provide goods and services for us. It is better to think of taxes as donations to charity. The free market is the enemy.

Laura Kuenssberg, "Where is the pain going to come" "Capping bus fares, giving a pub a grand off their tax bill, but that's the pleasure, the goodies" "People want to know, where is the pain going to come?" Andy Burnham, "I took on the bus industry in Manchester because they were running a system which worked for them. They made me go all the way to the High Court but I fought them and I won that argument and put buses under public control here" "With water, a similar approach is needed, you take on the vested interests" "The water system in Britain is a system where the shareholders never lose and the public never win" "So the pain comes I'm afraid in disrupting some of those arrangements and saying to those vested interests you can't have it like this any more"

I know nothing about Burnham or his politics. But I see nothing wrong with the former mayor of Manchester wearing clothes from one of the last factories trying to keep a regional manufacturing tradition alive and employing skilled garment workers at fair wages in the process.

Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface
