15 years ago I was fortunate enough to work for Steve Rotheram. In that time we spent much of it working on the disclosure of the Hillsborough documents and through it I saw @AndyBurnhamGM up close, working for the families. I saw him behind closed doors, away from the cameras. He was every bit as angry, determined and passionate to reveal the dark underbelly of the state and fight for justice when he was sat in his office at 10pm at night writing a speech, as he was sat in a Sky News studio with the nation watching his every word. When it comes to standing up for the working class, he’s the real deal and the strongest political communicator I’ve seen. I’m looking forward to hitting the doors for him in this hugely consequential by-election. #BackBurnham #VoteLabour

Running to London because it’s £235 for a peak train ticket

@blacklodgebooze @tea_and_sleep @BiteYourBrum To which I understand, though pushing the prices that high and making them redundant for even well paid positions in the city to commute to, it’s becoming unviable.

@markloftCD @tea_and_sleep @BiteYourBrum Early morning commuter trains will always be expensive to dissuade those that are travelling for leisure or any other reason than work, it's a throwback from British Rail, there simply isn't enough room on the trains to accommodate potential number of passengers if cheaper.

@markloftCD @tea_and_sleep @BiteYourBrum If you are using early trains like the one in that ticket above then they will always be expensive, commuting trains don't really have cheap tickets, there are few exceptions, they are expensive to put people off.

@blacklodgebooze @tea_and_sleep @BiteYourBrum Using the trains to go to London pretty often, I’ve seen a hefty increase over the past few years firsthand. It’s often cheaper to fly down from Manchester to Heathrow and head in from the West.

@markloftCD @tea_and_sleep @BiteYourBrum Where fares are concerned the cheapest have been offered by operators to fill up trains, for most those fares haven't increased that much, regulated fares will increase each year against RPI, these are entirely controlled by government.
