@Okachukwudi The book is WAY more Reddit than the film (derogatory, but I still liked the book). The film has a mid 2010s humor but it works for me. Makes sense cause the directors directed other stuff I liked like 21 Jump Street and The Last Man on Earth

@markocantdunk I would give it an 8/10, it's ironically a throwback of sorts. Like the screenplay looks like it was written in 2009~13, or maybe that's how the book was written

@lil_buts The book character is lacking in a certain charm and charisma that he inserts almost effortlessly (alongside the puppet alien). He was the perfect casting for the role. Why should he turn down a role he’s perfect for?

I’m sure PROJECT HAIL MARY is great, and this is not the movie’s fault… But I’m gonna need Ryan Gosling to take on more challenging roles soon. Seeing one of the greatest leading actors of my generation kind of coast for the past 10 years has been, frankly, disheartening.
