Phil Foden is proving a real conundrum for Tuchel. Prior to this season he had one good season in his previous three. 2023-24 where dazzling performances and 19 premier league goals showed his undoubted talent and the awards that came his way. Unless something sensational happens in the last 8 or so games of the season then this campaign will go down as another disappointment. So that becomes three in the last four seasons. He seems to have lost his way at City. It’s a real head scratcher as his talent is not in question. It would be no surprise given the competition, if he was omitted from the WC tournament squad. You can also look back at his England career, it should be better. 4 goals in 49 appearances is nowhere near good enough and whatever the issue is, he needs a reset and refocus. An inform Phil Foden is a joy to watch, if i remember correctly.
