To date, the Philippine government have documented the PRC’s movable floating platform, three newly installed floating buoys on top of the two dropped last October, an unidentified floating spherical object, and two antennas — all unlawfully placed.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚 03 June 2026 | Manila, Philippines The National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea is aware of reports regarding the alleged presence of a new structure at Bajo de Masinloc. Relevant government agencies are currently undertaking verification and validation measures to establish the accuracy, nature, and circumstances surrounding these reports, utilizing available monitoring, surveillance, and operational assessment mechanisms. The Philippine Government takes seriously any development that may affect the country’s sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction in the West Philippine Sea. The NTF-WPS is closely coordinating with concerned agencies to ensure a comprehensive and fact-based assessment of the situation. While verification efforts are ongoing, we underscore the importance of avoiding speculation and, instead, rely on information released through official government channels only. The Philippines remains steadfast in protecting its national interests, defending its lawful maritime entitlements, and upholding the rules-based international order consistent with international law, particularly the 1982 UNCLOS and the 2016 Arbitral Award. Further updates will be provided once the verification process has been completed and the facts have been firmly established.

@southyarradan @OopsGuess Exclusive Economic Zone is a maritime area established by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). It grants a coastal state sovereign rights to explore, exploit, conserve, and manage natural resources within 200 nautical miles from a country's coastline.

China provided the Philippines with fertilizer and fuel when it needed help most. And while accepting those supplies, the Philippine defense minister went on stage accusing China of trying to control them. You were the ones asking China for help. But the most humiliating part is not even that. The Philippines was invaded by Imperial Japan. Bataan Death March. Japanese occupation. Manila massacre. Mass civilian deaths. Torture. Humiliation. That was Filipino blood. And now its defense secretary stands on stage defending Japan, while attacking China for reminding Asia what Japanese militarism actually did. This is textbook-perfect self-colonization with a microphone. China gave the Philippines fertilizer and fuel. Washington gives it military scripts. Japan gives it historical amnesia. And Manila chose to perform for the two countries that either colonized it, occupied it, or still use it as a forward operating pawn. China was right to ask: If officials like this keep sabotaging trust, who pays the price? Not Washington. Not Tokyo. Ordinary Filipinos. Because colonial puppets always perform courage with other people’s lives. And colonial lackeys never protect their own people. They protect the leash.

Speaking at the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Sunday, a Chinese delegate confronted Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro over what he called a contradiction between Manila's stated support for the early conclusion of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea (COC) and its actions in recent years. Teodoro did not directly address the question. Instead, he launched into an emotional discussion of the COC at times appearing incoherent, before being interrupted by the moderator.

#Opinion: China’s scientific research activities at Tiexian Jiao are both an exercise of sovereignty over the reef in accordance with international law and a fulfillment of its international obligations. However, the Philippines continues to pursue an expansionist policy, devising various schemes to occupy new islands and consolidate its illegal occupation of islands and reefs. globaltimes.cn/page/202605/13…

China has indisputable sovereignty over the #Nansha Qundao (islands) and their adjacent waters. We firmly oppose the Philippines’ construction activities on all illegally occupied Chinese islands and reefs, including Zhongye Dao and Mahuan Dao, and will take necessary measures to safeguard territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests,” Jiang Bin, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, said at a press briefing on Monday when asked to comment on that satellite images reportedly showed that the Philippines is actively upgrading facilities on two islands in the Nansha Qundao, including plans to expand a sheltered harbor on Mahuan Dao and extend the runway on Zhongye Dao.

@Michael71T You should read the historical research of the legal scholar Anthony Carty. The South China Sea is indisputably sovereign territory of China and has been for hundreds of years, hundreds of years before the Philippines existed.

'NO OFFICIAL WARRANT' DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla responds to former senator Antonio Trillanes' claim that an ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa has already been transmitted to the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC). "There is no official warrant that we are in possession of. Please ask him (Trillanes) if the warrant has been legally served. As far as I know, he’s not part of the PCTC," Remulla told reporters. Trillanes arrived at the Senate earlier, showing an alleged copy of an ICC arrest warrant against Dela Rosa, who attended the Senate plenary session today, May 11 after months-long absence. | via @manueltupas
