Here in the U.S., government employees swear to "support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and to "well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office" on which they will enter. There is no personal oath to the president or to his agenda

When we Christians find ourselves elevating kings and ignoring the voices of the prophets who are calling the kings out, that’s when we know we are reading the Bible incorrectly. Or perhaps, that’s when we know we aren’t actually reading the Bible at all.

May I say a word for the Democratic Party for all its faults? It is the Republican Party that nominated Trump three times, that gave way to Trump, that supports and enables Trump. The Democratic Party in opposition could have done better. But at least they were in opposition.

I’ll never forget my New Testament professor telling me that sometimes God’s wrath looks like just letting people have the reality they demanded. The reality they voted for.

We will put pressure on our law makers and we can override him with legislation to help Ukraine and hold Putin accountable.

The 14th amendment was also clear as day that an insurrectionist shouldn’t hold office. But here we are.
