@skdh Fun Fact: You can not only build all possible logic operations with NAND, you can also do it with NOR.

One of the biggest pests in electronics still today is electrolytic capacitors. Like...can't you guys at least settle for SOME common form factors. I just want to fix the input capacitor stage of a power supply and finding replacement caps that fit the case is a nightmare.

@EvilEve_real Individual case vs. Average case And as for the licenses: forget it. People will demand driverless because it will feel safer.

@markusdd5 Why wouldn't some be unemployed? Not all will switch from cab driver to butler as Jensen proposed. Dishonest to claim no displacement. Per David Sachs, US plans limited FSD cab licenses.

Yes. The point closer to the truth is that the qualified workers, engineers and scientists that leverage AI will replace those who don't. It's just another superpower we've gained in our portfolio. 40-30 years ago 'experts' would walk around and tell people engineering jobs will massively reduce because CAD/EDA programs became viable at scale. Speaking from my own industry, all it did was being able to go from doing designs with thousands of transistors to doing designs that have hundreds of billions of transistors. It's augmentation, not extinction.
Daniel Jeffries@Dan_Jeffries1

Jensen is one the smartest and most far seeing folks the world. "If an AI scientist warns people that AI is going to permeate across radiology and radiologists are going to get wiped out, it might seem helpful but it's hurtful. If we convince everybody not to be radiologists and we now need radiologists, that actually is hurtful to society. "It is hurtful to convince all the young college graduates not to study software engineering because we are going to need more software engineers than ever. That's hurtful." "Scaring people with nonsensical things, which are not going to happen, that this is an existential threat, there's a 20% chance that is is existential, that's ridiculous. "That it's going to wipe out 50% of college level jobs. "That is it going to completely destroy democracy. "These kinds of comments are not helpful. They are made by...CEOS. And you become a CEO, maybe you adopt a God complex and somehow you know everything." Brutal. And right.

@EvilEve_real Displacement in terms of people having to do different things? Yes. Taxi driver is a dead job. But they will not fall into unemployment.

@markusdd5 Yes, and you know Jensen is afraid of regulatory burdens due to fear over AI workplace displacement. He may be right, but he also needs to sell this. Don't you think FSD is going to cause some displacement? Not related to nvidia but same fear.

@Michael_L_Rauch @Tesla @LucidMotors I politely recommend you do not extrapolate to what worldview and experience I have. You have still not addressed any of the points made. I will hence end the conversation here and impolitely recommend that you just fuck off.

@markusdd5 @Tesla @LucidMotors I have a large sample size as I speak to lots of owners. What’s irrelevant is speaking on topic like an authority when you have zero experience outside your narrow world view.

Now that @Tesla is no longer competing in the luxury EV segment with @LucidMotors since Models S & X have retired will the EV community heal & come together? 🤔

@Michael_L_Rauch @Tesla @LucidMotors You are still evading any of the points made - with the only thing you manage to do is refering to authority. Which is laughable, because your sample size is 1. It is irrelevant.

I very much know what I am talking about and you have yet to disprove one of my facts. And if you want to learn about what I said about the gravity, search X or google for it. It has the same desastrous launch as the Air. And Lucid is still burning cash like crazy, basically selling at 1/2 COGS. And no Tesla people hate serious competition. Many Tesla people drive Rivians, mayn Tesla people regularly recommend other EVs to people when Teslas product palette does not fit them. I just did this morning. You are putting up strawmans to distract form the fundamental truth that Lucid is not a serious company and has yet to lay out a path to become one without big daddy money from the Saudis. It's not me or us that is not interested in the truth, it is you.

You don’t know what you are talking about. The Gravity is one of the best if not the best EVs I’ve experienced. It had some hiccups on software early but been solid since update in January. Honestly think a lot of Tesla people hate the idea of any competition from any manufacturer. Whether it’s because they are too wrapped up in the stock or emotionally seems the biggest reason. There is zero reason to hate another manufacturer trying to bring more options to market unless it threatens your bank account or self worth. ✌️

because they recognize that it is not serious business by a person that did leave Tesla alone when being there and pulling the cart when it mattered most. that is why. Rawlinson is - by my standards - a despicable human being. And because most comparisons are laughably wrong. Lucids quality has consistently been completely supbar, littered not with little, but major software and other technical issues. And that is not quality which can easily be fixed. It continues with their new vehicles as well. The new Gravity seems to turn out to be another reliability desaster, with front suspension components failing regularly below 5k miles driven and Software that yet again has issues from the start. Lucids are just bad cars for the price and no amount of seemingly nice leather can make up for that. The fail the most important test: They are unreliable for daily use.

@geerlingguy What's the red chain holding a jig about? I've never seen that. What purpose does it serve? Also, DeWalt makes a lovely vibratory saw that is a valid tax deduction now that you're wiring the studio...

@ChristianausDus @wholemars Lack of skilled people. Very simple. If you can hold a screwdriver without stabbing yourself you get hired for production and there is usually very little to none actual post-school professional education.
