Good Morning! Welcome to Friday’s Christian Business Corner.  Please join me for a short scripture break. Proverbs 13:4: “A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.” We must be careful how we prioritize the importance of work in our lives.  It's a delicate balance because work is holy but at the same time it must not become an idol to us either.  Consider the creation of the heavens and earth; from the beginning God Himself participated in work to create our world. The following passages all report the same result when God created (worked) the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1: 10,12,18, 21, 25).  He inspected His work and saw that it was good.  God experienced satisfaction at the results He created and also note He made modifications to His work when He wasn’t satisfied by creating Eve. (Gen 2:18) In Genesis 1:28, God assigned tasks/work to Adam and Eve.  In Genesis 2:15, it says, "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." God assigned him responsibility to manage His Creation on earth. Jesus worked as a carpenter into his adulthood until He began his public ministry. Jesus ran a carpenter business if you will.(Mark 6:3) Paul was a tentmaker. (Acts 18:3) During the week, we spend most of our waking hours of a day at work. It is no surprise God places great value on the time spent performing these tasks. It is a continuation of His assignment to Adam to tend the garden. So we should balance this great responsibility with the temptation to elevate our work above God’s priority in our lives. Some struggle with laziness while others become workaholics - both are a violation of God’s Word/Intent. In light of these examples, Proverbs 13:4 reveals to us that there is a sense of fulfillment hard working people experience - it is a blessing. While those who are lazy and dodgy with their performance at work are never satisfied (which is frankly a curse). They are never happy, highly critical of everyone around them, and never take responsibility for their lackluster performance. In this upcoming week, observe who takes pride and care in their work and who is slack in their performance. Who seems satisfied and who seems disgruntled? As the business owner, you must always set the standard for your business with your performance. Daily pray over your business; seeking God’s counsel through His Word and being obedient to His instruction. Have a blessed weekend. Peace and be prepared.

Kid Hero Catches Pedo Teacher Red-Handed! A brave middle school boy in South Dakota trapped his 6th-grade teacher after the creep sent creepy messages to a 12-year-old girl. The teacher, 28-year-old Zachary Kaderabek from Huron Middle School, added the girl on Snapchat and made her uncomfortable. When she told her boy friend, he stepped up. He created a fake Snapchat account pretending to be a 14-year-old girl named “Kate” using random Pinterest photos. The teacher took the bait. He said things like “Oh, so only four more years” with a winky face, sent sexual messages, and even sent dick pics. The boy saved everything and showed it to his parents. They called the police. Kaderabek was arrested and now faces serious charges: sexual exploitation of a minor and solicitation of a minor. He’s on unpaid leave. Absolute W for the kid.
