We are seeing the downside to the offseason roster building so far on the position player side. Betting on a rookie to contribute as a starter, acquiring older players, and playing guys out of position defensively. They can be really good but feels like a weird roster.

If the players want this to actually be true, they should collectively bargain for a playoff format that makes it true. Because allowing 12 teams into the playoffs after a 162 game season in a sport as random as baseball is nonsensical if you want the best team to win. The playoffs are a weighted lottery. I can be upset at not winning a lottery, but Im not going to say a team’s entire season is a failure because they don’t win it. And if you’re about to ask if I’ll ever stop complaining about the MLB playoff format, the answer is no. It completely sucks and I’m going to keep saying it until it either changes or I die. Whichever happens first.
