Launching! >> How do we go from designing public services for individual humans to designing sets of “relational” services that acknowledge and support “interconnected” (human&non-human) lives in an “entangled” world? medium.com/publicsystemic… #SystemDesign #publicpolicy #gov

@Martin_Jordan @redbaronski @Loup73 Great! We, at the service design team in the B.C. Government/ Canada, just blogged about this topic as well @marli_k/doing-remote-user-research-for-government-services-in-times-of-covid-19-b0f8981e65a4" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@marli_k/doing…

When fieldwork is not an option you go remote, right? Check our blog post on doing #gov user-research in times of a #pandemic. How do you do it? #govdesign #COVIDー19 #servicedesign #psilabs @marli_k/doing-remote-user-research-for-government-services-in-times-of-covid-19-b0f8981e65a4" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@marli_k/doing…

"Seeing government as a system", check @PolicyLabUK @AndreaSiodmok 's toolkit and see how a complex problem like climate change/net zero involves gov across the board #psilabs #openpolicy #systemschange #policomm

Definitely a #firstmouse team when #bcgov service design team worked on the opioid overdose project. Thanks @AndreaSiodmok for your views on gov as a system #policomm #openpolicy @marli_k/stemming-the-tide-in-the-opioid-crisis-how-british-columbia-works-with-citizens-to-design-public-b0b63ce65362" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@marli_k/stemm…

For those who have been asking. Came across this piece while reading through @marli_k's work on labs.
The full paper she published is here:

What if labs... designed and scaled process instead of solutions? connected with like-minded movements? were better networked geographically? developed their own evaluative practice? @indy_johar's provocations for labs. Not new, but still feel relevant and challenging.
English

@sam__rye @indy_johar The source of that work is here ;-) kl.nl/wp-content/upl… @indy_johar @sam__rye would love to revisit our 'old' thoughts on #psilabs and write up a new piece!
English

Wonderful provocations for a different type of social lab.
Thanks @indy_johar 👏

@redesign @States_Change @mikaelseppala @indy_johar @FlourishingInst @aupward @dcooperriderai The summary is here kl.nl/wp-content/upl… and the actual full paper is here kl.nl/en/publication… ;-)

@States_Change @mikaelseppala @indy_johar Please post a link to this, the FEI @FlourishingInst (nodes across NA & Europe) are connecting business research in strong sustainability, aspiring to evolving networked process since our launch last year. @aupward @dcooperriderai

@States_Change Thanks for mentioning this work! I will connect with @Kennisland to reestablish the actual link to the full summary PDF kl.nl/en/news/lab-ma…

@States_Change @indy_johar I love being confused with @indy_johar's excellent work and getting 50 likes for it lol. Indy published this provocative blog on labs a while back where he concludes with similar findings and encourages us to reimagine #psilabs provocations.darkmatterlabs.org/the-challenge-…

@indy_johar Now doubting whether this was actually @indy_johar and think all these great thoughts are actually @marli_k's. Apologies for getting that wrong!

We're convening a Community of Practice of 🇫🇮 stakeholders around #SystemsChange. To help the process I'm reviewing existing frameworks of capabilities employed by practitioners in the field.
Am I missing something? 🤔
Any efforts we should join? 🤝

@BCFamInnovLab I would love to share them with you - pls connect on linkedin and i'll send you a link via we-transfer. I'd love to brainstorm as well about what this system looks like from a bc perspective. From what I understand the situation is equally dire here.
English

@marli_k This is a wonderful article Marli - thanks for sharing. I would love to examine the interactive maps in more detail, could you share the design files? Love to connect with you sometime to discuss our work in BC family justice!

Once you see the world in systems, you can't unsee it. How to foster #systemschange with #indigenouspeoples in a post-colonial #childwelfare system that is ‘crook’? #storytelling #childwelfare #newzealand #psilabs bit.ly/2WUWjgA
English

@CodesignLab_AKL Thanks labbers! It’d be great to see how you would draw the same system, or to co-draw a systems-behind-the-system-map to explore which other opportunities could emerge. To be continued? @NZPolicyProject
English

Excellent blog by @marli_k on the value of system mapping to aid understanding of the interplay between policy, power & culture across complex issues. In this case, children's social care in NZ.
If you only read two blogs this week. Read this one twice.

@alexgsmith @DanHLawReporter I thnk the point here is that if ideas, creativity&experimentation happen in a sphere thats created&dominated by a certain group (let's say pink old elephants) then they will likely reproduce same inequalities that certain other elephants (or geese, hamsters) are suffering from.

@unevendistrib @sam__rye @sam_rye Maybe @AlastairChild could help connect to policy folks in NZ ;-) bit.ly/2KC1ssc
English

@unevendistrib @sam__rye Thanks Hamish, hey @sam_rye are you in any way connected to the folks in NZ who are working on this topic? Would be great if somebody could actually use some of the maps.
