Some more (in-depth) information on the missing B-pillar camera recording on HW3: ⬇️⬇️ I saw some footage from greentheonly where he managed to access the camera recordings of crashed Teslas directly from their FSD computer. ✅ HW2.5 was already able to save all 8 external camera streams to its internal SSD, so it’s not an HW3 bottleneck that prevents capturing all external camera streams—at least not to the internal SSD. 💾 After that, I messaged with @greentheonly and found the following out: ✅The USB port on HW3 cars with a glove box USB port and HW4 cars is the same: USB 3 speeds on both, so this isn’t the bottleneck on HW3 either. All Teslas with USB ports in the glove box and with the console refresh have USB 3 ports, just like HW4—especially since HW4 files are even larger than HW3 files while using the same USB port. ⚡️🔌 ✅It’s the infotainment processor’s job to copy the video data from the internal FSD computer streams and write them to the external SSD. Given that HW4 has the same Ryzen processor as HW3, this shouldn’t be an issue. 🧠💻 @greentheonly found some data on HW3 cars that indicates B-pillar camera recording as an option, but it’s not active or being used. 👀 So why doesn’t Tesla include B-pillar camera recording in the spring update for HW3 cars? ✅Most likely: – Since HW3/Ryzen cars got the spring update so late, this feature may have been dropped for now and will be added later. Maybe it requires more work on HW3 (why exactly is unknown), but Tesla wanted to release the spring update without further delays. 🕒🚗 ⚠️Could be: – Tesla is (temporarily?) gatekeeping this feature for newer cars. Recently, older Model 3/Y owners have received incentives for upgrading to a new Model 3/Y, including free FSD transfer. Tesla may want to push sales toward newer cars. 🆕 ⁉️Very unlikely: – There’s something about HW3 that technically prevents this feature. @greentheonly confirmed there’s nothing he knows of that would prevent it from being rolled out on HW3—but maybe something exists. 🤷‍♂️ My personal guess: ✅After realizing that HW3 (with a USB-port in the glove box) and HW4 use the same USB port with identical data transfer rates, and that the AMD processor handles copying the video material from the FSD computer to the external SSD, I’m convinced this feature will eventually come to HW3. This planned feature was likely removed from HW3/Ryzen models, and the update is now rolling out without it. Maybe there was a specific issue that delayed its implementation, and rather than holding back the entire update, Tesla chose to temporarily deliver the update without this feature. ⏳💡 What do you think? 🤔 @TeslaNewswire @SawyerMerritt @niccruzpatane

Cybercab: cool, aber uninteressant für den Großteil der Kunden Tesla Semi: cool, aber uninteressant für den Großteil der Kunden FSD-Zulassung: cool, aber für über 75 % der Besitzer uninteressant, da FSD aktuell nur auf HW4 läuft Optimus: cool, aber uninteressant für den Großteil der Kunden Roadster 2: cool, aber uninteressant, da extrem teuer und kein Fahrzeug für die breite Masse FSD: siehe oben Robotaxi-Flotte: cool, aber uninteressant für den Großteil der Kunden Energiespeicher: cool, aber uninteressant Sehr schade mMn. Das Grundgeschäft (Fahrzeuge) und der Wille, der Beste zu sein, rücken leider immer weiter in den Hintergrund.

Das ein 2026 Model Y langsamer lädt als ein 2018 Model 3 ist ein Problem. Das Tesla in der Lage sein sollte das besser zu machen wissen wir beide ebenso. Warum Tesla das nicht macht und vom einstigen Treppchen im Bereich e-Autos immer weiter absteigt macht mich wirklich traurig.

Brand new 2026 Model Y charging slower than a 2018 Model 3 — HELL YEAHHH!! Just wait for the guys telling you this charge curve is “better for the battery and its longevity” (lmao, it’s not) and how amazing it is because the car is alwAys fAstEr than they are. So yeah, 10–80 in 33 minutes on a brand new 2026 Model Y isn’t slow at all — it’s just incredibly kind to the battery… and apparently to everyone else too. You’re going to love it!
