@travnort Good questions to ask are: what data would it use, who would have access, and how accurate is it in making predictions or giving advice (if that's what it does). Then you can decide!

Very proud to announce the Consumers LEARN AI Act, led by Senators Kelly and Rounds. I have gotten to work with an amazing team on this over the past many months. kelly.senate.gov/newsroom/press…

Why has machine learning failed to have much impact in healthcare? Because the field doesn't focus on what actually matters. We need to move from "machine learning ON healthcare data" to true "machine learning FOR healthcare". 🧵

What would Mars look like from a future orbiting astronaut's POV? The Odyssey orbiter captured its first images of the Red Planet’s curving horizon and layers of atmosphere, similar to the @Space_Station’s view of Earth. More on these new images: go.nasa.gov/3GinHhC

@ShriramKMurthi Wouldn't the actual point here be that student-driven inquiry (asking questions) can do a better job of teaching than a professor lecturing at them?

Heard today about a prof who told students AI can do a better job of teaching than humans can, so for CS1, gave them a list of keywords (like "loops") and told them to use ChatGPT to learn it for themselves. Thought it was a great piece of performance art, but sadly, it's real.
