@vandell33 If we looked at a trade- BTC for LSD, if you swapped one for the other - they could issue a fiat value but that can be argued that wasn’t the agreed price. It’s like having 2 identical cars on the forecourt but one is 5k cheaper. You don’t pay tax based on the higher one.

@vandell33 It’s a shift in perspective, you see the new system but yet always try to get back to the old. Or the old system wrapped up in a new layer like CBDC. It would seem that the solution best suited is actually no currency to come back to.

Many claim Bitcoin is the pinnacle of financial sovereignty, even as authorities such as central banks and governments retain full control over the legal and banking infrastructure, allowing them to impose rules that can control the fiat on-ramps and off-ramps via regulation and control the entire plumbing of exchanges, banks, and payments, effectively making buying, selling, spending Bitcoin or even seamless conversion to fiat cumbersome, or nearly impossible whenever they choose. How do people not understand this? If anything, it’s better to trade it as a risk asset.

@ZssBecker From my experience it’s untrustworthy. If it doesn’t know the answer it makes it up, but you as the user are unaware of that change. If it can’t read something it again makes it up. You can already see how this is going to cause mayhem through every market that uses ai

I’m just chucking this up there. We are gonna see an AI boom. Huge up in markets. Followed by an insane biggest crash ever when an AI has its first serious rogue accident. Claude is already doing shit without permission. Intentionally tricking users and hiding stuff it. Only a matter of time and massive regulations will drop.

@protechtor Yes, well said. But any long term investor has been through one of these before. Maybe not exactly the same, they generally don’t repeat but they do rhyme. Strangely enough I just don’t care what they do to the price, it’s all a stage.

Seeing a lot of desperate messages. Please forward to anyone who needs to hear this. I have been in dark times in Crypto. I venture to say, many who have been involved as long as I have might have similar stories. We don't share them enough with others openly imho. I remember well when the account I had investing in the Terra Luna ecosystem was nearly wiped out in a matter of hours (the entire USD stable coin depeg took a few days, but peak deleverage was only a few hours). It was a very painful drawdown (many, many zeros of losses). I remember desperate posts from people I had interacted with that this was the end for them. I remember posts from friends of friends with news that they had taken their life. As a husband, and a father... a provider... and having traded before successfully in other markets (ie. I should know better), I felt a deep sense of shame... that only began to come out over time. As a Christian, I had guilt and shame about not feeling like I was being a good steward of the funds charged in my keeping (which was true... I had sinned). I had guilt of participating in such an endeavor that could cost people their lives. There were a number of things that happened in my personal life at that same time which contributed to deepening the darkness, that at times, threatened to overwhelm me. Through Grace and Faith, I have had time to reflect on my errors, my sins (and ask for forgiveness) and on learnings from that time. The truths revealed to me through that time: 🟢Hope in anything but Christ can cost you everything. I am so grateful my hope was in him during that time. He found me in my dark place, he brought me to the light. 🟢My desire for freedom comes from my creator. It is a feature, but can be misdirected. 🟢Nothing is this world is mine. It will all stay here at the end of my journey here. 🟢His strength got me through that time. In spite of my anger at him (myself really). 🟢Leverage in crypto is radioactive. 🟢Promises of stability in Crypto are lies. 🟢Greed disguises itself well... and always lies. Always. 🟢Humility is not a weakness... it is earned. If you are in a dark place today, please know that you are not alone. There are no depths you can be in which he cannot find you... nothing that you have done that cannot be forgiven. He desperately wants you to come to him in your greatest needs. We all need a savior, and he is our father. He loves you deeply. You are never alone with him. Never. Please don't give up.
