The surge in international oil prices amid ongoing global crises has led to a significant increase in petrol and diesel costs in Pakistan. To safeguard our farmers, all wheat-growing farmers in Punjab with landholdings of up to 25 acres will receive a diesel subsidy of 10 litres per acre at Rs. 150 per litre. I stand firmly with each one of you and am personally overseeing the implementation of this subsidy to ensure it remains transparent, effective, and reaches every deserving farmer without delay. Our farmers are the backbone of Punjab. I will always stand by you, protecting your rights and strengthening your livelihoods, Insha’Allah.

On the directions of the Prime Minister, all public transport in Islamabad will be made free of cost for the general public for the next 30 days, starting tomorrow. The Ministry of Interior will bear the expenditure of Rs. 350 million for this public relief initiative. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Madam, the data being cited relates to the 2022–23 period. Instead of presenting a pessimistic view of the province based on past conditions or assumptions, it is important to consider the current realities on the ground. Over the past few years, the province has witnessed a number of encouraging developments. These include the introduction and implementation of a teacher licensing policy, the merit-based recruitment of more than 93,000 teachers, the decentralization of financial authority to the school level, the rollout of a clustering policy, and the upgrading of school infrastructure. In addition, non-formal education centers have been established to cater to 90,000 out-of-school children. Further initiatives include the launch of an e-transfer system for teachers, the adoption of facial recognition technology for monitoring teacher attendance, systems for tracking student attendance and addressing grievances, and the rehabilitation and reconstruction of nearly 6,000 flood-affected schools. Significant efforts were also made to ensure student retention during the flood crisis, alongside curriculum revisions and the introduction of STREAM education across the province. These highlights represent only a portion of the steps taken; many other initiatives have also been implemented. It is hoped that such progress will encourage a more balanced and constructive narrative, rather than one that focuses solely on negative portrayals of the province. @MinisterEduGos
