@mymets2024 If he was serious about run prevention it starts w pitching which he didn’t address. “Run Prevention” was just some bull Stearns workshopped to explain why the life long Met who we celebrated mere months before wasn’t worth keeping.

Through 170 plate appearances Bo Bichette has NEGATIVE .7WAR and an OPS of .565.
Even at 3 years this may be the worst contract in baseball.
I know you can't predict a regression that severe but someone needs to be held accountable for all of this.

Pete Alonso’s comment of “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your fucking formulas” is profound. Said what many Mets fans have been thinking to David Stearns’ face. The Mets’ POBO’s style is clearly a ruthless one.

I’m not even trying to be a dick here at all, but how does a Mets account with 8k followers not understand that barring an injury or absolute horrific falloff Clay Holmes is 100% opting out of his contract for a big payday?

We ALL agree Stearns is the most to blame. That's not even a debate. The reality is it's FAR easier to fire HIS manager, then him in season. Fire Mendoza, replace him with Dick Scott & let Scott make the decisions. Remove Stearns from all on field decision making & ease him out.

This is strictly on roster construction. David Stearns decided to acquire three big position players this offseason, two of whom have had significant injury history.
He decided to get rid of Alonso, who played every single game, and risked acquiring talent that he knew was unlikely to stay on the field
