Kuwait on Tuesday strongly condemned the approval by the Israeli occupation's Knesset of a law mandating the execution of Palestinian prisoners, describing it as a new link in a series of measures targeting unarmed civilians and exacerbating the suffering of the Palestinian people. This came in a statement delivered by Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen before the United Nations Human Rights Council, which concludes its 61st session on Tuesday. Al-Hayen reiterated Kuwait's firm condemnation of the continued violations of the occupation forces of international law and United Nations charter, stressing that what the international community is witnessing reflects a clear disregard for international laws and conventions. Ambassador Al-Hayen also called on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to halt these violations and ensure the implementation of relevant UN resolutions.
