Elevating one group while diminishing another is favoritism not truth and stands in direct violation of this command. James 2:9 “If you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted as lawbreakers.” This is explicit. Partiality is sin. When bias appears in teaching, it departs from God’s standard, especially for one called to lead. Acts 10:34–35 “God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears Him.” God is impartial. No group holds higher standing before Him. Any message suggesting otherwise misrepresents His nature. Galatians 3:28 “You are all one in Christ Jesus.” The Gospel removes divisions; it does not reinforce them. Tribal distinctions in preaching contradict the unity Christ established. James 3:1 “Teachers will be judged more strictly.” The pulpit carries weight. Words that divide invite stricter accountability. Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be full of grace.” Grace must govern the tongue. Speech that belittles falls short of this standard. Ephesians 4:29 “Only what is helpful for building others up.” A sermon must edify, not divide. When words tear down, correction is required. Conclusion A public error from the pulpit calls for public correction. An apology or clear withdrawal is necessary to restore your integrity. Sincerely, Ademola
