@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx Yes. I initiated a petition that our entire program’s batch signed to demand our university to address the elephant in the room that they have been ignoring for years just because an instructor with connections thinks he can get away w/ abusing students for the nth time :)

@matchanaz @usagixcx Realy now? You forced people in power to take accountability? You sure you're not overestimating yourself? 🤣 Anyway, good to know you atleast help people.

@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx Great! you’re giving people jobs, but with the systemic corruption and the economic crises that protests target, even with the same salary, it will become harder for them to put food on their plates, send their kids to school w costly fares, and truly have a comfortable life :)

@matchanaz @usagixcx Me? Nothing. I just run a business that employs people. Jobs that put food in peoples plate, send their children to school and give them real opportunities to rise up from poverty. Eh ikaw? How many people got better lives because because of your BS?

@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx and it never took just one protest. respectfully, whether that is in my university, in our community, or in ph in general, that push is NECESSARY.

@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx Many actually! I participage in monthly community outreach programs and my field is public health, I also belong in NGOs and SAOs that help people in needs. the pressure that activism puts on people in power, in my experience, has demanded and forced them to take ACCOUNTABILITY+

@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx change rarely comes from one clean, decisive moment it comes from SUSTAINED effort. tahts how labor rights improved. thats how dictatorships were challenged. thats how environmental protections even exist at all. none of those happened because people tried once and quit. BFFR

@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx You’re aiming that frustration at the wrong target. modern activism isn’t some mindless loop of “doing the same thing over and over.” it adapts, evolves, and persists because the problems it’s fighting are SYSTEMIC. what you’re calling repetition is PRESSURE. (1/n)

@HIMARS2022 @usagixcx it’s harder to change bcs of dumbasses like you who decided it’s futile. and mind you it’s even more difficult bcs filipinos refuse to learn from history, political fanaticism, and bcs everyone is too spineless. ikaw? ano ba nagawa mo para sa taong bayan? lol.

@usagixcx Difference is today's activism is misplaced. It is also futile. Decades of your so called "activism" changed nothing and many of you so called "activists" ended up just the same as the people you complained about.

@HIMARS2022 @candacemlaput well no, as a scholar of the nation, our duty is to the ‘bayan’ and not the govt. its so easy for you to label activism as terrorism but the reason why u can go on x to post these dumbass takes is bcs of the freedom of speech these activists fought for. ikaw ang TANGA.

@candacemlaput From "iskolar ng bayan" they chose to become an "enemy of the state". Thats the reason they are mocked and made fun of. Matatalino naman pero nag papaka tanga.

Y'all only see the privilege of the "Iskolar ng Bayan" titles when it's the rich or non-politically vocal people studying in the university. But when they actually embody the essence of being one, they're mocked, made fun of, and called names by their own kababayans. 😓
