Fulfilled a lifelong dream last week to visit the Old Course at St Andrew’s! What a beautiful and historic place.

This is an underrated feature of AI assisted programming by the way. Pre-2023 tab-completion software still could be easily screwed up with bad typing or mis-clicks.

Everyone has a “thing” which was previously part of their identity, but now is trivial with AI. For me, it’s typing. Voice-to-text is nearly perfect. It closes the gap between fast and slow typers.

Maybe too obvious to be worth saying, but: frontier models are now obviously superhuman at some mathematical tasks, including ones that the profession has, historically, rewarded with prestige etc.
