WFM Bodhana Sivanandan, a remarkable young talent who picked up chess during the pandemic, has quickly risen to become one of England’s top players. Her record-breaking performances have stunned the chess world, making headlines globally. Last year, she became England’s first World Youth Chess Champion in 25 years, winning a historic triple gold medal with a perfect 33/33 score. She followed this up by clinching the women’s prize at the European Women’s Blitz Championship, where she impressively defeated an IM and drew against a GM. This year, Sivanandan’s meteoric rise continued as she gained 327 rating points, reaching 2185 and securing her spot as the world’s second-highest-rated player under nine. Recently earning the WFM title, she is now on the verge of becoming the youngest ever to earn a WIM norm. In July 2024, she was selected for England’s women’s team for the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary, making her likely the youngest ever to represent England in any international sporting competition, as reported by The Guardian. Yesterday, she visited the Clash of Blames, where she had the chance to play with legends Vladimir Kramnik and Jose Martinez! 📷 @GettyImages

This Noughts & Crosses mat mysteriously appeared on the local high street recently. Who went first, O or X, and what was the order of moves if they played sensibly?
