Maths Teacher - determined to figure out this tricky profession before I retire. Lots of questions, very few answers. She/her.

Is a function a formula? Does a correct function above answer line followed by the expression on answer line get full marks? Would you award 2 or 3? @mathsjem @MrMattock @missradders

If you're a teacher PLEASE RT this for attention. In @bbceducation's article today @tiktok_uk + @instagram claim they don't allow selling of papers on their platforms. (LOL)
Please start by removing these 264 accounts I found this morning then. 🙄

@audiohoser_sg @mrsdenyer @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths Yes I think onenote is the best solution
English

@mrsdenyer @mathsteacher09 @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths Second this. I print my powerpoint to onenote and go from there., Use powerpoint for my animations nad development, onenote for examples.
English

Help please twitter teacher PPT users. I’ve made the switch from smart notebook to PPT and overall I’m happy. But the one problem is the lack of ‘extend page’ option for lengthy calculations. Anyone got a solution to this problem? @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths
English

@LessaRiel @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths Yes I think this is the best solution. I’m going to try it.
English

@mathsteacher09 @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths print your power point to onenote (or just work straight into it) then you can go sideways from a slide or down
English

@Kaetror @ConfusedTim @TheMathsBazaar @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths Yes I think this is the best solution. I’m going to give it a go.
English

@mathsteacher09 @ConfusedTim @TheMathsBazaar @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths What about OneNote? Make the slides in ppt then you can import them and that gives you the infinite canvas.
You would lose line by line animation though, if that was important to you.
English

@SmartJacques @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths I do hand write everything except questions, and I do that on PPT, but just need more space when I run out!
English

@mathsteacher09 @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths How about handwriting on a flip chart? Students need to learn how to write mathematics - this a powerful role for a teacher to model mathematical writing.
English

@Mummy_and_Maths @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths Do you plan in PPT and then import? I’m not familiar with it, I’ll have to have a look.
English

@mathsteacher09 @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths What about infinity whiteboard?

I LOVE it!
English

@Arithmaticks @CantabKitty @TheMathsBazaar @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths I need to play around with this. Did you plan everything on PPT first then?
English

@CantabKitty @TheMathsBazaar @mathsteacher09 @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths Yeah onenote was my solution for this - could import my ppts with all my planned qs, and then add space between slices if I needed it 💕
English

@ConfusedTim @TheMathsBazaar @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths The main thing is the equation editor for writing maths. But also all the auto aligning, automatic date update, some animations…. I was always a massive notebook fan, then forced to use PPT at a school with no interactive boards, now a PPT convert.
English

@mathsteacher09 @TheMathsBazaar @draustinmaths @DrFrostMaths @jemmaths May I ask what? I far prefer our Smart software, but the trust insists on ppts.
English

@mrsouthernmaths @Whitehughes Ha! I’ll be dipping in and out over the summer!
English

@mathsteacher09 @Whitehughes I once read an article about an author who found himself sat next to someone reading one of his books on the tube. He saw that there was a joke coming up and waited several stops past his destination to see if the reader laughed. I can empathise with this now!
English

I’m really looking forward to teaching proof to year 12 having read chapter 3. I’ve got so many new ideas to have a go at…starting with that beautiful semicornerless chessboard! @mrsouthernmaths @Whitehughes
English

Already really enjoying this. First chapter on establishing a mathematical culture is just what I need in preparation for my new sixth form groups in September. @Whitehughes @mrsouthernmaths

EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT! @dani_hosford and I have teamed together to write an A-Level Maths textbook. This is why I haven't been making many videos recently! It will be suitable for all exam boards, including exercises on each large data set. [Artwork subject to change!] 1/5
English

TLMATHS TEXTBOOK MINI UPDATE! @dani_hosford and I wanted to give you a quick sneak peek at a page from the textbook to whet your appetite. We're working hard on making it the best we possibly can! Who would have thought writing a textbook would be such a large project!

English

@LiEmers @Whitehughes @mrsouthernmaths @AMSPLon_SE I need to get one! Two of my heroes! And the tlmaths one!
