@mattdenni Yeah it's a good point. I've not fully thought it through but I could see them having a bench 9 for 7/1 splits who doesn't feature during 6/2 splits. Reinach for example. Also, I could see them using 2 nines in a 6/2 split given the flexibility of their backs.

A lot to dislike about this sentiment. Part one: It's anti innovation. It looks at something new and instead of thinking about its weaknesses just goes, "new thing, ban!" Rugby doesn't get better by doing that. 1)

@LinebreakRugby Yep. Could have gone either way. He took a chance and got away with it, as many do. In terms of entertainment, I wouldn't say it makes a difference who throws in at lineout. Would be surprised to see France get away with this level of contact with 9 more than once. Great game!
