Here's where so many democrats fail to understand the situation we are in and ...that if we fuck up...we could be in the last months of democracy. One reason Republicans have historically kicked our ass in the messaging game is because we had our nose in the air with that "high road" stuff. That might make you feel warm and fuzzy....but...it puts you behind the 8-ball in the messaging war, especially when it is the most consequential election in history. If President Biden pauses for two seconds between words, we see a two-day barrage of "President Biden is failing!" (And, it scores points for Republicans. They do it...because it works) When a leading psychologist comes out and says, "I have made a diagnosis of Donald Trump. He has advanced dementia," you don't dive into the "Is it true??" ridiculousness. You do that with your own medical diagnosis and then get a second opinion. However, if we want to win this election...we take any gift that is handed to us (like Dr. Gartner writing that his diagnosis of Donald Trump is advanced dementia)...and allow THAT....to be the first AND second opinion until proven otherwise. When the results come in this November, we will be awarded no points for how "careful" or "high road" we were during the lead-up to the election. Zero. Republicans are using every conceivable form of propaganda, misinformation, and disinformation known to attempt to make President Biden look bad and hurt his chances of winning this November. If we want to win this Goddamn election, then we'll see a respected mental health professional like Dr. John Gartner writing, "My diagnosis of Donald Trump is advanced dementia..." and immediately think, "Holy Shit! The election God's have been kind today!!" and communicate that message...far and wide. That "high road" shit has no place in this election. Our "high road" is that we don't plan insurrections and chant, "Hang Mike Pence!" are the party of law and order. Beyond that...we are in a messaging war in the fight for democracy, and you don't win that war using the rules of politeness and fairness your mother taught you. You win that fight by playing to win. Whether Trump is the nominee or on the ballot...doesn't matter. He is the symbol of the Republican Party. He is damaged goods. We must take every step possible to continually reinforce that he is damaged goods. When someone like Dr. John Gartner hands you a priceless gift, you don't say, "Oh...no. I can't accept that." You say, "Thank you, sir. May I have another?"
