I’m leaving NIU now and will want to take some time to transcribe and think before I write, but I will say this. My initial reaction was “why the hell is NIU doing this.” But the more I reported and dug into it, the more sense it makes to me

@KMesser73 @mcuban These are all worthwhile things. But there are a bout 30 steps between raised taxes and making any of them happen. And, apparently, they are all apt to disappear on the whim of any president's pet advisors.

@matthaiduk @mcuban For starters ears/eyes/teeth for Medicare and shore up SSInsurance. So bump those taxes first. We need to pay down the debt. We need to incentivize new housing.

States should sue to make sure that all the rules are being followed. But also face reality. Dems said they wanted to reduce the deficit. This is a direct path to that. What Dems should be fighting for, is appropriate termination remuneration and benefits, including requiring the Feds to offer job hunting support. If they want to be the party of the people, they should take all the reflexive energy to Trump and use it to support the people that need it the most right now

@KMesser73 @mcuban I think the issue with raising taxes is "for what." I have this crazy theory that we could stop spending money on bombs, have enough for all the social programs and STILL not have to raise taxes.
