@kcatsnave2 yknow i am’nt but i really should be huh. i’m not watching movies as often as i’d like these days
English

@matthew_devil_ i haven’t nor have ever heard of this director - thank u so much - are u on letterboxd also ??
English

@kcatsnave2 anytime ❤️ tim showed me this one actually, tho i was already aware of joel through his short form content. not sure if you’ve seen a lot of diy work like this but i have a feeling you’ll get it and be into it
English

@matthew_devil_ these full length link drops are bliss - thank u matt i will watch omg

i’ll take any chance i can to reiterate that this is a top 5 game of all time

The way SSX3 handles its music is so genius. The songs mix in real-time, adding and removing specific instruments. It results in a version of the song that feels perfectly in-synch with where you’re at on the course. Listen to the vocals come back in when I get out of the forest.

@MealGin thank you sm this is a big help ❤️ ps1 emulation it shall be. i think save states will help me out a lot bc i’m still so bad at understanding stealth
English

@matthew_devil_ also the GOG pc port of MGS1 is not ideal. it stopped supporting my controller after a while and there is no hell greater than tryna fight metal gear rex with just a keyboard
English

@MealGin is there an ideal version of 1 & 2? i couldn’t decide whether to get a pc copy of 1 or to just emulate it on ps1 or use the gc twin snakes version. tbh i’m tempted to get the master collection on my ps5 just for convenience but i heard it was a shitty port or something
English

@matthew_devil_ i recommend startin with mgs1 then playing by release order. mgs3 is a pretty big shift in the gameplay but if you gotten used to the basics of 1 and 2 it shouldn't be too hard to get used to.
English

@MealGin yeah 4 and 5 seem the least essential but i’ll still try to play them if the rest hook me. i still have a ps3 after all so i could get ahold of 4
English

@matthew_devil_ actually *maybe* you can skip 4 bc it's never been rereleased and the game is like 70% cutscenes
English

@roman_roam i highly recommend the game, it’s one of those things that definitely isn’t for everyone but as a result i want everyone to try it at least once lmao. i can see why A24 might be interested in it bc the concept and execution is simultaneously very prestige and very experimental
English

@matthew_devil_ I haven't played death stranding but from what I've seen about it, this is exactly why I feel like it won't work as a film. I don't think it'll have the same impact
English

@Jazzy_reporter i have no doubt that i’ll figure it out, i think it’s just a matter of having the playstyle finally click. i go in with a lot of preconceptions and get overwhelmed quickly bc the idea of holding a bunch of different enemy routes in my head at once makes me afraid to take risks
English

@matthew_devil_ Just playing with someone next to you is highly useful. The in game save feels forgiving enough that save states feel unnecessary, but I'm biased lol.
English

@Jazzy_reporter lmao my next question actually was gonna be which port of MGS1 is the best choice for a beginner. i think save states would help me out a lot. i’ve tried to start it several times but for some reason i can’t seem to get past the tutorial and i have no idea why lol
English

@matthew_devil_ Stop by sometime and we can just play MGS 1 on my PS1 LOL
English

@matthew_devil_ If this is what A24 meant by wanting to get into IP projects then cool maybe?
But video game movies are so rarely good, or needed lol
