As a German, I find the political situation in United States very stressful. How hard must it be for the American people???

(And for those who are tempted to say, “what about intersex people, huh? Such things are not features; they’re anomalies. I bet nobody gets “assigned” intersex. It just happens in a statistically insignificant number of cases.)

Can we stop using the absurd term “sex assigned at birth”? It’s ridiculous. It’s not assigned by a doctor or even a parent. If anything, it’s “assigned” by DNA. It can never ever be changed. Even “biological sex” goes too far. It’s just your sex. The sex you are. Love it or hate it, it’s yours.

Why would a man continue sending a woman flowers after a woman rejects him? She's trying to spin this as an instance of a man... Feigning interest? It sounds like he DID legitimately care, but she told him to take a hike. She's now sad that he's no longer courting her after being told to stop courting her.

Everyone’s complaining about the fact that this Animal Farm movie undercuts Orwell’s critique of communism, which is true. But, message aside, I think it’s just as bad that they’ve taken a serious and intelligent story and turned it into a goofy slapstick farce complete with fart jokes. It’s like making a Crime and Punishment adaptation and turning it into a romantic comedy. No respect for the source material at all. A cynical cash grab. If you want to make a dumb movie about farm animals, make your dumb movie about farm animals. Positioning it as an adaptation, while making no attempt to capture either the tone or meaning of the author’s original work, is an insult.

Something I really don’t like about how X is set up. I was invisible for about a year. Then someone told me my ratio of following to followers was too high. I need to unfollow a bunch of people to get in the right balance. I don’t want to unfollow people who follow me, but there’s no point in posting here if nobody sees me. There’s not even an easy way to get to people I’m following who don’t follow me. It’s all very cumbersome. I don’t think X should punish people for supporting each other.

@DrewSav 1) they aren’t making “partisan decisions.” They are making constitutional decisions. 2) if the dems packed the court, and it were suddenly 7-6 in favor of the left, would you still lament its partisanship, or would it be okay then?

Is packing the Supreme Court ideal? No but the conservative majority has refused all offers to rule in a nonpartisan manner. If they're gonna keep making partisan decisions then there need to be consequences. Their job is not to advance Republican policy from the bench.

Eating meat is wrong and I've never really heard a single strong enough answer to justify it. I eat meat and I know it's wrong. Meat eaters aren't winning this argument literally ever.

Explain it to me like I’m five. How are black Americans going to be denied representation if they have the exact same voting rights as every other citizen?

If the “big switch” happened, why weren’t there hordes of politicians changing parties throughout that period? There were Dixiecrats for a while, but most of them went back to being democrats.
