@damiankelleher Would be interested to hear the first 10 or so that entered your head. In spite of it being a ridiculous exercise.

@DavidDidau Congratulations. I remember your tweet about moving to PP. I teach in an intl school there and also run. Hope you’ll pack your running shoes - there’s a growing community of us, both expats and Khmer runners.

NEW Onwards & Upwards I set out to run a marathon with a ludicrously ambitious goal, got injured six weeks out, ignored advice, turned up anyway, and somehow dragged myself round in 3:38:44. Bittersweet, yes, but also clarifying: marathons, like writing books, are less about talent than patience, stubbornness, and the willingness to keep going when the plan has fallen apart. open.substack.com/pub/daviddidau…

@JMcNallyBooks Chamnar know what they’re doing. I picked up a stack of Clarisa Lispector novels last time I was there. So grateful for them sourcing Fitzcarraldo and NYRB in PP

@adamboxer1 On the international school circuit there’s one conference in particular that is essentially a shop front for that style of magical thinking which then permeates schools until new magical thinking comes in the next year

I know i shouldn't be surprised any more, but the phenomenon of non-school-leaders talking about magic wand stuff that school leaders should do will never cease to amaze me

This, right here, is my pledge for 2024. At the #GoogleChampions Symposium last month, we added our individual goals to the shared slide deck. Everyone has such amazing plans! What do you think of mine? I think 2024 is going to be very exciting! #SYD19 #GoogleET #GoogleEI

What, So What, Now What— Triple tracked all the way. We used it in a meeting, teachers used in a class and next we’ll see what a learner who wants to take action is coming to be with! #aisdhaka #adaptiveschools #protocols

@RogersHistory Strikingly similar memory from my NQT year. Making and cutting out tectonic plates for Year 4 table groups to jigsaw puzzle together. In the first 10 minutes. In what world, eh. Halcyon days.

PGCE 2008: I spent 3 hours carefully cutting out cards about the Black Death. They would form part of a complex game. With year 7. 10 mins in, the laminated cards were all over the floor ‘What do we do?’ x100 shouts. The class was lost, the lesson was lost, I wanted to cry, it was a great lesson for me.

@jennysfen @KateRockTeacher @ISBLearning Thank you for sharing. AtL goals are also inherently transdisciplinary and stretch beyond Homeroom = greater return on goal-setting investment.

@MattCromwellPYP Important work. Ss (and Ts!) need time to hone their feedback-giving skills otherwise it can be quite redundant. Could also use “Kind, Specific, Helpful” as prompts.

G5 are #inquiring into how to be good revising buddies + to give focused #feedback. Commenting on a Google Doc can often be messy + unhelpful. So we created a 'Connection-Craft-Query' protocol to use with prompts etc. It needs tinkering with, but interesting...🤔#pyp #pypchat

@missjackameit @ProjectZeroHGSE Hey - sure, pairs identify supporting ideas for both for and against, then reflect on the strength of each. The stronger the evidence, the closer it is placed to the middle of the ‘rope’.

@matthewcbp @ProjectZeroHGSE This tug of war visual is intriguing. I’m about to introduce debatable ideas and want to try this with my book clubs. Could you tell me more?

@Mr_Minchin Not what we all use and shouldn’t be the norm, imo. Place value secure in all learners? Would argue that algorithms w/o this underpinning promote mimicry. Using PV discs and renaming might work as a pictorial bridge.
