so let me get this straight all of ai twitter was telling people to buy a mac mini to run openclaw, which is literally just a framework, an orchestration layer that sends api requests to actual ai models. something you can run on a $5/month vps. which is exactly what i do btw but when google drops gemma 4, an actual large language model that you can run and fine-tune locally on that same mac mini, with no api costs, no subscriptions, no third party dependencies, completely yours under apache 2.0 the ai community is silent you were buying $800 hardware to run a wrapper but ignoring the actual ai model that would justify that hardware this tells you everything you need to know about the average iq of ai twitter

@GenePark Yeah, a dev firmly sticking to their vision of difficulty and a player firmly deciding the game is therefore not for them are both valid positions. And those don’t have to be bad/aggressive positions as long as we remember that “not for me” doesn’t mean “empirically bad.”

difficulty options take time, work to implement. team cherry spent 6-7 years making decisions about this game, including not offering it. if they add it later, great! but i think it's strange for players to make demands to homogenize experience for mass appeal.

@GenePark It’s a good case for there being interest in thoughtful reviews of games that have been around a while. I personally enjoy the retrospective analyses more than what amounts to instant responses to any media, even from talented and skilled reviewers/writers.

@GenePark Starfield’s biggest crime was coming out a couple months after BG3, which absolutely reset cultural expectations of these games and stoked a desire for more traditional RPG over immersive sim.

i gave starfield 4/4 stars, and some people still hold that against me lol. but tbf it’s also probably the only review i would revise. id dock it down to 3.5

starfield on the switch 2 is interesting. ps5 games like FF7 Rebirth, Ratchet and Clank and Spider-man 2 are all decently playable on the steam deck, so optimized Switch 2 ports are easily conceivable. starfield runs like trash. this will be an interesting test for the switch 2

If this was the private sector, the CEO , after firing 20 pct of the BOL workforce, would focus on how to optimize the retrieval of the data and ask the dept head the best approach to improve the quality of work given all the cuts. If they felt they and to get rid of the dept head, No smart CEO would fire them without a plan already in place to improve the outcomes

people keep asking but yeah: i actually still prefer death stranding 1 over 2. i think it’s still a bolder vision, even if 2 improves so much mechanically. i actually replayed the entirety of BASE DS1 right after 2. i still had a great time and missed its darker foreboding vibe
