I read an article (grugbrain.dev) that gave me a brain worm so bad I had to write to get rid of it..

@chriswallace @rvig_art Happy birthday - these burgers reminded me that I still think of that one burger joint in old town McKinney we ate at a few times!
English

@JuanArreguin Oh, you want to replace all references on the canvas to your library var. That’s more challenging - I’d be up for collabing on something like that though, DM me if you want..
English
@matthewsimo No, that’s the problem you can’t control the naming of things between two individuals like your version vs someone else’s. So the idea would be to replace/swap with your naming. To remap everything to your existing libraries.
English

@JuanArreguin - this isn’t the same thing but is related to something we chatted about in a previous thread a while back

I just submitted Node Vars for publishing as a #Figma Community #Plugin! When they approve it - it'll be available for anyone that wants to use it. I'm very excited about it and hope someone finds it useful. If you have any questions or ideas about it - hit me up!

@JuanArreguin Oh, more like a “migrate library collection to local collection”? Or to say another way, a way to point the values of the local collection to the library collection via a variable alias?
You thinking the library and local collections are 1:1 structurally & naming wise?
English
So here's an example: Getting the latest Ant-Design Library file (community/dev) - and then swapping out their "local" variables with ones from published libraries without having to go into every single component and manually do it. I expect a left + right "swap" UI that allows the selection of the targets of the current file and published libraries.
English

@JuanArreguin For that sort of feature to work with their plugin architecture you’d need a server to store the variables data from the source so the target files could then use it. Hmm, interesting use case - I’ll think on how it’d actually need to work
English

@JuanArreguin Yea, little foggy too, hah. I want to say it was around exporting Variables. For that, have you tried exploring publishing variables in a library?
English

Just got word it was approved! It’s live, get it here: figma.com/community/plug…
