The fundamental problem with software engineering is it’s too real of a job. The outputs are measurable and objective. The workers are nerds no one likes. It’s a prime candidate for automation. Most of the fake jobs in the bullshit economy will remain largely safe.

I thought Dwarkesh had a good point that software engineering is the only job where the full context needed to do the job is available to an AI agent (via the code base) And I didn’t think Dario had a good answer for why automating other jobs will be as easy

I keep thinking I’m maximally ai-pilled, then I have another holy-shit moment and decide I wasn’t pilled enough

@AdamWhitcroft same experience last night on the couch. we passed the computer back and forth for hours prompting claude together. easy to lose sight of the magic when - you already knew how to build things with code - you’re driving agents daily and already acclimated to the new normal

This weekend I set up Claude Code for my wife and watched a years-long bottleneck disappear… me. She’s a makeup artist with no coding knowledge. I built her a Jekyll site years ago to keep costs down and because she didn’t need anything more. But it also meant every change had to go through me. After a quick setup I handed her the reins and watched her interact directly with Claude and her website. Within minutes Claude was giving incredibly detailed and actionable recommendations around SEO, accessibility, and missing Google structured data, all of which she applied. She then added new pages, updated pricing structures, and completely overhauled her testimonials on her own. Watching her understand and experiment with what this tool could do for her in real time was incredible. When you use it every day, you sort of forget how powerful that first “oh wow” moment really is.

Introducing QuickClaw ✨ I made the first iOS app that launches your own OpenClaw agent in under 30 seconds. No Telegram No API keys No setup One app, Sign in → your agent is live. In the appstore right now. Limited capacity, first come first serve.

close button top left, "next" button top right, 20px padding under those, 2 column grid, each card should have a 50% opacity overlay, bottom of the scroll should have an opacity mask... annoying writing prompts like this, so i made a figma plugin figma.com/community/plug…

- randomly thought of a vscode color picker I made 6+ years ago... - devastating 1 star review from Nicolas - but otherwise fun surprise that people apparently still download and use it - feels worth it to spend an hour and just ask claude to address issue, fix old dependencies, make it better

today, I made a figma plugin that exports frames as an ascii wireframe so I can paste mockups directly into the terminal for claude.

I’d love to be one of those people who remembers names. They stick in my brain with sticky-note glue.

Very good book - I think I better understand both the brain and AI systems after reading - 10/10 recommend
