@TexasPreacher The Eastern Orthodox Church has not changed in 2000 years. The Reformation had good criticisms of Catholicism but while trying to get back to the early church they unfortunately started their own misguided “Christianity lite”, when they should have just joined an Orthodox Church.

The early church was marked by simplicity in worship: no images, no ornate vestments, no elaborate ceremonial displays or processions. Those things belonged to the surrounding pagan world with which they were at war with. Eventually Christianity won out, and paganism was destroyed. In later centuries, the devil found a way to bring it back in, this time through the papists. Now we again find pomp, demi-gods, smells, & superstition; we see prayers directed to angels and saints; veneration of images; adoration of the host; and worship conducted with incense, vestments, spectacle, ritual display, etc. These were all practices that had been distinctly pagan. Thus, what began as the simple worship of God in spirit & truth took on forms of the religions that Christianity had once displaced. That's why today, Rome looks nothing like the early church, and very much like blatant old school paganism. (And EO isn't any better. Basically a mysticized version of the above, with the added practice of wood worship.)

@NkechiKwenu @murphdogg29 Nice observations but the same applies to progressives lecturing conservatives everyday all day, except it’s the entire culture doing it.

Like imagine going to work and referring to your coworkers as sinners and forcing your religious beliefs on them DAILY and then going home and going live on IG criticizing them BY FIRST AND LAST NAME about how they are demonic and unrighteous. If he was a normal person he’d have been fired YEARS ago 😭😭😭

@murphdogg29 Maybe, but people need to learn how to brush off comments about religion and politics they don’t agree with. The tolerance people don’t think tolerance applies to Christians too. Just move on and be ok with disagreeing. We live in a multicultural world, what did you expect?

Pope Leo XIV: “I'm told that President Trump recently stated that he would like to end the war. Hopefully he's looking for an 'off-ramp'. Hopefully he's looking for a way to decrease the amount of violence, of bombing, which would be a significant contribution to removing the hatred that's being created and that's increasing constantly in the Middle East and elsewhere. I appeal to all leaders, come back to the table, to dialogue. Let's look for solutions to problems, let's look for ways to reduce the amount of violence that we're promoting, that peace - especially at Easter - might reign in our hearts."

God never needed to be satisfied through sacrifices. This is a pagan idea. God is the creator of the universe he does’t need anything. Christianity didn’t out compete pagan religions because it was more streamlined and better technology whatever that means. It replaced the pantheon of gods by explaining the spiritual world better, including explaining who those gods were and why they couldn’t help you… Unlike the one who created them and everything else.

Jesus made worship free. The Jewish system ran on recurring sacrifice. Livestock, grain offerings, costly festivals where you burned your best animals to keep God satisfied. Jesus replaced the whole system. Passover with communion. Bread and wine instead of a slaughtered lamb. He replaced constant animal sacrifice with one final sacrifice on the cross. You used to need a priest between you and God. That became direct access. Three mandatory trips to Jerusalem every year (Passover, Pentecost, and the fall harvest festival) became "where two or three are gathered." Even the entry cost changed. Circumcision became baptism. The entire subscription model collapsed into something that cost nothing. Jesus constantly pairs religious leaders with tax collectors because they run the same operation. One charges an empire tax, the other a spiritual tax. But this wasn't unique. Every pagan system surrounding Israel ran on the same "spiritual taxation" model. You could see who was going to win immediately. Paul walks into Ephesus and the entire city economy runs on the goddess Artemis. Silversmiths making shrine replicas, temple fees, festival seasons that shut down commerce. The Ephesians were paying to worship. The Christians were not. The silversmiths rioted because they could see exactly where this was heading. This is why it outcompeted every pagan faith. A religion that costs less and gives you more of your life back will always spread faster. Especially against one that demands your best lamb four times a year. Christianity was streamlined technology. Once people figured out they could worship without bleeding their household dry, they never went back.
Ben Wilson@BenWilsonTweets

People don't understand how insane the explosion of Christianity was: - There were maybe a thousand Christians at Jesus's death. - In 100 AD there were still only about ten thousand Christians. - One hundred years later it was still less than one percent of the Roman empire. - And then a hundred years later there were over SIX MILLION Christians, more than 10 percent of the population. - Go forward another 150 years and there are over 30 million Christians and it is the official state religion of the Roman empire. It's one of the most stunning transformations in world history. And yet there is wide disagreement on why it occurred.

This is something I have been worrying a lot about. We have psychopaths waging this war. We have seen Netanyahu gleefully carry out a genocide in Gaza reducing it to a nuclear bomb site. Why would he not go further now in Iran? There has been absolutely no consequences for his war crimes in Gaza. Trump has only assisted them. This has got to stop. As the citizens of the world we have to stop this. They can not be allowed to carry out a nuclear strike on the millions of innocent people of Iran. These are our fellow human beings, regardless of their leaders. This is insanity.
Mohamad Safa@mhdksafa

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran. This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war. Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons. I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late. Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.

@OrthodoxEthos Good thing this is not Israeli government policy. If this was mainstream Israeli values then they wouldn’t be an ally. But it’s not. Israel is a secular liberal democracy that believes in human rights and therefore is a valuable ally in the ME. Every country has its radicals. 🤷‍♂️

Although this Rabbi is considered radical by other Jews, what he says here is embraced by many nonetheless and he has his passages to cite in favor of “destroying the idols” — i.e. Orthodox Churches. It is quite clear for all who have eyes to see where such antichrists (1 John. 2:22) are pushing humanity. . . The chief question, therefore, is NOT for him -- for he “knows not what he does” (Luke 23:34) — but for those ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS who HAVE knowledge and yet have nonetheless been “giving holy things to the dogs” (Matt. 7:6) for so long, seeking “peace” with the blasphemers of Christ, engaging in common prayer with those which the Holy Fathers forbid, and, in general, doing common cause with those on the leash of the ruler of this world... Do they not know that the spiritual laws are in effect for the unrepentant? (youtube.com/watch?v=8E9PII…) Do they not know that God will not be mocked (Gal. 6:7)? Do they not know that it is “later than they think” and we are approaching the time when they will speak of “peace and security” and then sudden destruction falls upon them (1 Thess. 5:3)?

This is clickbait trash and completely discrediting to the @DailyMail. Spoke to a LEO who told me fragmentation that makes it impossible to get a match to ANY weapon happens all the time. Yet the Daily Mail is echoing Tyler Robinson’s defense team nearly verbatim. They did NOT quote a single law-enforcement officer not connected to Robinson’s defense who would’ve given their readers a better understanding of what’s happening here. They’re purely leaning into this because they know there are a bunch of rabid conspiracy theorists who will not take the time to understand this. Which makes the Daily Mail and its reporter scum in my book.
