EPIC GAMES LAYS OFF OVER 1,000 EMPLOYEES "Today we’re laying off over 1000 Epic employees. I'm sorry we're here again. The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025 means we're spending significantly more than we're making, and we have to make major cuts to keep the company funded. Festival Battle Stage genuinely changed my life. I met my girlfriend @kallieslays at the FNCS 2024 Battle Stage tournament, she was another competitor. This April will be our 1 year anniversary. We're planning to move in together soon. Thank you Fortnite Festival Battle Stage and everybody who was behind it. The tournament itself wasn't perfect, but it goes so much farther beyond the tournament itself. I met so many lovely, like-minded people in the community from that event. Everyone that I had contact with at Epic was lovely as well, a pleasure to talk to. I'm beyond grateful that I was given this opportunity and I'm sad to see the mode go away.
