The more I listen to this album the less I trust reviews. The writing here is way more than what’s at surface value. People are hung up on the light battle rap punches but these setups, hooks, and throwaway lines are layered with subliminals. Mind you thats Hov’s blueprint.

J. Cole really called Jay Z for a second opinion, deleted his diss track, apologized, left Drake for dead and then never spoke to him again, no call. Man imagine the shit Drake really went through in his mind the last 2 years, the amount of betrayal and worldly hate was inconceivable. This is why those who aren’t Drake fans will never understand how wicked ICEMAN is…not only because the album is musically great…but the context and pressure it was built under. The story arc of Drake being resilient, carrying and then what does he do? Drops 3 ALBUMS splits the genres and blesses his fans, all for the love of the game and music despite knowing UMG pockets gonna get full off it too. Y’all really gotta put the right shoes on to know wassup.

Cole fans at my head and the funnier thing is thinking I'm a Kendrick fan! Drake my favorite of the 3 but even as a Kendrick hater, GNX had higher highs than fall off (Man At The Garden, Gloria, Reincarnated, Wacced Our Murals). Fall Off was so mid. Not sorry!!!

4.8 for an album that includes Whisper My Name, Janice STFU, Shabang, Make Em Pay, Burning Bridges, National Treasures, Plot Twist, 2 Hard For The Radio, Make Them Remember, Firm Friends is crazy to me. Each to their own though.

@RellDMC wow. i hated this record. Make 'em Pay has a great beat. 2 Hard for the Radio same - but C- lyricism. Felt like a washed rapper - late era Jay Z vibes. Compared to what Cole was doing on MDL, Birthday Blizzard, and Fall Off? Its really not in the same league as art.

Listened to Iceman some more. The best rapping Drake has done, imo. Respect to others who like the other two albums, just not for me.
