Yeah ik, my issue is that any response massively biases to the most recent couple of things mentioned. 1. this exists, you have to hover over the granola meeting thing. i often leave my cursor on it during calls (see pic) 2. also exists, go to granola while on a call and the chat box works against transcript in real time 3. also exists, but only works with google meet. download the granola chrome extension. works pretty well

The answer is that they won't be needed for value creation that comes from cognitive work, but that, as a result of owning assets - whether that be businesses / equity, real estate or (in the mid-term) cash - they'll remain a core part of the system alongside super-intelligence

I really enjoyed Odyssey on first viewing, but found it to be a little surface-level plot-wise. Felt like it jumped from amazing set-piece to amazing set-piece, but lacked the underlying threading that imo made some of Nolan’s other films all-time greats. Interstellar and Oppenheimer the two best examples. Then I read through the official Reddit thread on the film, some good articles on interpreting the ending as well as refreshing myself on the story itself (which I thought I knew well but had actually forgotten a lot of) - and now I think it’s up there with his best work and I can’t wait to see it again. I do this with a lot of the stuff I watch: enjoy it on first viewing before reading around it in-depth and as a result growing to appreciate it far more. This is especially the case for more complex movies and tv shows, which makes sense. Severance and Mr Robot were two shows where reading the threads on Reddit after each episode massively improved the overall viewing experience. Natural I suppose, but it’s become a crutch for how I watch, and really appreciate, a lot of the good TV and film I consume now.

@mckaywrigley @jdjohnson Completely agree - fable and opus 5 led to marked improvements in output for me. And, like with fable and code, vaguer / shorter prompts actually did better than longer and more specific prompts too

@jdjohnson newer models handle it better. i had a similar experience at launch. product is a little beta-y but once you get the hang of it it's super helpful

claude design is *by far* the single most underrated ai product rn. a world class designer for everyone. using it w/ opus 5 this weekend has completely transformed how i build. it should be 100x more popular. unreal product.

@signulll What’s your timeline for the collapse of the 1/3? And what are you going to work on when it’s gone?

my current general principle of ai: ai gets you roughly 2/3rds of the way to a good result on almost any cognitive task. that final third is where taste, judgment, iteration, domain expertise, & originality compound. today the last third is where almost all the value lives. as the models get better & better, the last third will shrink to ~zero & then possibly negative.
