T-11 days and counting On May 12, SpaceX will launch the first-ever Starship V3 from the new Pad 2 at Starbase. First time a version 3 (block 3) Starship is being launched. The key goals are testing the upgraded vehicle, attempting a Super Heavy booster tower catch, and a controlled Starship reentry with Indian Ocean splashdown. Starship V3 is taller with much larger propellant tanks than V2, giving it dramatically higher payload capacity. V3 is powered by advanced Raptor 3 engines: lighter, simpler, and significantly more powerful than the Raptor 2s on Version 2. The V3 booster features a built-in hot-staging ring and three larger grid fins for better staging and control. Bottom line: V3 aims for 100+ tons to orbit reusable, a massive leap forward from Version 2.

Why this matters beyond the spectacle: V3 Starlink satellites are too big for Falcon 9. SpaceX literally cannot scale its next-gen constellation without V3 flying reliably. And NASA's Artemis lunar architecture requires on-orbit refueling — which needs the docking ports being tested on this flight. This isn't a test flight. AI gave me back 2 hours a day. I used them to scroll more. Jokes aside — I genuinely use AI every day now. And the weirdest thing happened: The more time it saves me, the more I realize how many of my old "I'm busy" excuses were just… lies I told myself. Before AI: "I don't have time to write that post." After AI: I have time. I just didn't want to. Before AI: "Organizing this takes forever." After AI: It takes 4 minutes. I was just avoiding it. Before AI: "I can't keep up with the news." After AI: I can. I was just doomscrolling instead. AI didn't give me productivity. It gave me brutal self-awareness. Turns out the bottleneck was never time. It was me. AI is literally eating the gaming industry’s lunch… again. 💀 Valve trying to drop the Steam Machine at the lowest price possible, but the RAM apocalypse from AI data centers says “nah”. GabeCube delayed + price TBD. 2026 is still the plan, but this is the new normal: AI progress = consumer hardware tax. Smart move by Valve being transparent tho. Big demand for memory parts from AI data centers has pushed up costs and caused delays. Because of this, Valve has put off sharing the final price and exact launch date. Valve still plans to release the Steam Machine sometime in 2026. The company is working with suppliers to keep costs as low as it can.
